1. What if I am a total beginner?

* We believe that everyone should acquire the enjoyment of music-making. Although the level of classes may vary depending on the instructors, most classes are open for beginners. Let us be the starting point of your musical journey!
* Keyboard registration requires minimum of 3 month lessons.
* ODPC Band Academy 는 모든 사람들이 공동체적으로 음악을 만드는 즐거움을 함께 누려야 한다고 생각하고 있습니다. 매해 오시는 강사님들에 따라서 수업의 난이도가 바뀌기는 하지만 대부분의 경우 초심자분들께도 수업이 열려 있습니다. OBA 가 여러분의 음악의 즐거움을 더해 드리는 출발점이 되었으면 좋겠습니다.
* 키보드의 경우 3 개월 이상의 레슨 경험이 필요합니다.
2. How do you sign up for the private lessons?
개인 교습 등록은 어떻게 하나요?
* Private lessons are open on the day of the placement test. Please inquire at the information desk to reserve your spot. You can sign up for 40 minutes or 1 hour sessions per day. OBA does not obtain any revenues from the private lessons. For the fees, please email us at [email protected]
* 개인 교습은 placement test 가 있는 날에 안내 데스크를 통해 등록하실 수 있습니다. OBA 에 등록하신 분에게만 한하며 하루에 40 분 또는 한 시간씩 등록하실 수 있습니다. OBA 는 private lesson 을 통해 소득을 남기지 않고 전액 강사님들께 전달해 드립니다. 등록비에 대해서는 [email protected] 으로 문의하시기 바랍니다.
3. What is the difference between Applied Class and Ensemble Class?
수업이 어떻게 진행 되나요?
* Applied classes are designed to teach instrument techniques and/or related knowledge like music theory and history. From the information learned from applied classes, students will practice how to apply them in the ensemble classes. Ensemble classes will teach valuable lessons to the students on how to make beautiful harmony within the groups.
* 수업은 크게 Applied Class 와 Ensemble Class 로 진행됩니다. Applied Class 에서는 각 악기에 대한 기술이나 이론에 관한 공부를 집중적으로 하게 되고, Ensemble Class 에서는 음악에 대한 큰 그림을 보게 합니다. Applied Class 에서 배운 내용을 Ensemble 에서 연습하고 어떻게 각기 다른 악기 들이 어우러져 아름다운 소리를 낼 수 있는지에 대해 배웁니다.
4. Why is the placement test necessary?
앙상블 배정을 위한 테스트가 꼭 필요한가요?
* While everyone may have different preferences on which genre to practice, we want students to fully utilize the time at the camp and achieve as much as they can. In order to do so, we need to place students in the right ensemble where they can do their best.
* 캠프 기간 참석자들이 시간을 잘 활용할 수 있도록 각자에게 맞는 앙상블을 배정해 드리려고 합니다. 테스트를 거치며 좋은 방향을 제시해 드릴 기회가 되기에 꼭 참석해 주시기를 권장합니다.
5. Things to bring - Subsidiary Equipment
준비물은 어떻게 되나요?
* Instruments like drums and piano will be placed in the camp. With the exception of the aforementioned instruments, students should bring their instruments including subsidiary equipment such as drumsticks, writing utensils, tuners, and guitar picks, as required by the instructors. We will call you about two weeks before the camp and let you know what kind of equipment is needed.
* 드럼과 피아노 같은 악기들은 캠프에 배치되어 있으나 드럼채나 기타 피크 같은 장비들은 학생이 준비해 와야 합니다. 캠프 시작 이주 전에 주최 측에서 연락을 드려서 미리 준비 하실 수 있도록 도와드리겠습니다.
6. During the placement test, or in the video, you must be able to showcase the following. Choose a song applicable to your auditioning ensemble.
레벨 테스트 혹은 비디오를 보내실 때 이하의 도표에서 해당하는 카테고리 부분을 심사하게 되오니 참고하시기 바랍니다.
